The Callum Richards Band is a three-piece rock and blues band built around strong vocals, big guitar playing and a set packed with songs people actually want to hear.
Fronted by singer and guitarist Callum Richards, the band works its way through classic rock, blues and rock ’n’ roll, with tracks ranging from Johnny B. Goode and Folsom Prison Blues to Hard to Handle, Hotel California, Voodoo Child and Another Brick in the Wall.
There are plenty of familiar favourites in the set, but they also like to throw in a few less obvious choices along the way. It keeps things interesting and gives the band a bit more character than a straight run of standard covers.
Callum’s guitar playing is a big part of the show. There are plenty of solos, extended sections and moments where the band can really let loose, while the three-piece format keeps everything tight and direct. They have the freedom to stretch songs out when the crowd is into it, change things up on the night and let the set build naturally rather than sticking rigidly to the same formula every time.
They are particularly well suited to lively bars, après-ski venues, weddings and private events where people want something a little more rock-focused. The set can move from bluesier numbers and classic singalongs into bigger rock tracks as the atmosphere picks up.
If you like proper live guitar music, strong musicianship and a band that can put their own stamp on well-known songs, the Callum Richards Band is a great fit.
