Annecy is famous for plenty of things before anyone mentions music: impossibly clear water, the old town, mountains dropping straight towards the lake and summer evenings that make going home feel like a particularly bad idea.
But live music is very much part of life around Lake Annecy too.
In summer especially, music moves outside. Hotel terraces host acoustic sets and DJs, concerts pop up around the city and neighbouring villages, festivals take over lakeside venues, and weddings and private parties bring musicians to some pretty spectacular locations around Annecy, Talloires and the rest of the lake.
And unlike the nearby Alpine resorts, where live music is heavily associated with winter and après-ski, Annecy has a different rhythm. Here, the sweet spot is often sunset drinks, terraces, weddings, outdoor events and long summer evenings by the water.

Where can you hear live music in Annecy?
The answer changes depending on the season, which is part of the fun.
Annecy isn’t built around one dedicated live-music strip. Instead, you’ll find concerts across hotel terraces, bars, cultural venues, outdoor stages and seasonal events throughout the city and around the lake.
During summer, the official Lake Annecy events calendar regularly includes concerts, dinner concerts, jazz, classical performances and other live events in Annecy and neighbouring communities.
A few places and programmes are particularly worth knowing about.
Lakeside live music at Le Pélican
The terrace at Hôtel Le Pélican is a good example of what live music in Annecy does particularly well: relaxed music, outdoors, with the lake as the backdrop.
Its summer programme includes live bands and solo artists on Friday evenings from late June through August, alongside regular DJ evenings during the summer season.
It’s less about going to “see a concert” and more about music becoming part of the evening — which, to us, is often when live music works best.
The Impérial Annecy Festival
At the larger end of the scale, the Impérial Palace hosts its annual Impérial Annecy Festival beside the lake.
The 2026 edition runs from 18–28 August and brings together jazz, classical music, world music and other live performances, including free early-evening discovery concerts on the lakeside bar terrace before the main evening shows.
It’s a pretty good illustration of Annecy’s musical personality: a proper programme, but without losing that very Annecy combination of music + terrace + lake + summer evening.
Bigger concerts at the Arcadium
If you’re looking for a traditional concert venue rather than acoustic music over an apéro, the Arcadium hosts touring French and international acts throughout the year.
Its 2026 programme includes a broad mix of concerts and large-scale shows, and the venue can hold up to 3,300 people in standing configuration.
Free summer concerts around Annecy
Annecy also has a strong programme of outdoor cultural events.
The Théâtre des collines’ Ah! La belle saison programme, for example, brought a series of free concerts, theatre, dance and circus performances into neighbourhoods around Annecy during summer 2026.
And around the wider lake you’ll regularly find smaller concerts, dinner music and village events in places such as Duingt, Saint-Jorioz, Veyrier-du-Lac and Menthon-Saint-Bernard.

Summer is when live music around Lake Annecy really comes into its own
Winter has its charm here, but summer changes the way Annecy uses its outdoor spaces.
Terraces stay busy well into the evening. Boats are still coming back across the lake while people are sitting down for dinner. Bars can spill outside. Weddings move from gardens to waterfront terraces and then indoors later in the evening.
That naturally changes the sort of live music that works.
You don’t necessarily need a giant stage and a six-piece band.
Sometimes the ideal Annecy set is simply a singer, guitar and a couple of speakers, playing while people have a drink as the sun drops behind the mountains.

The destination stretches far beyond the old town.
Talloires, on the eastern shore, is particularly well known for its hotels, restaurants, weddings and private events.
Then there’s Menthon-Saint-Bernard, Veyrier-du-Lac, Duingt, Saint-Jorioz, Sevrier and plenty of smaller locations around the water.
Musically, it all connects.
A musician based in Annecy can easily find themselves playing a ceremony in Talloires, cocktails in Menthon-Saint-Bernard, a hotel terrace in Annecy and a private party elsewhere around the lake within the same summer.
That’s why we tend to think about Lake Annecy as one live-music area, rather than treating every village as a separate destination.
Why does live music work so well at Lake Annecy weddings?
This is where our own experience comes in.
A Lake Annecy wedding often moves through several completely different atmospheres in one day.
You might begin with an outdoor ceremony.
Then everyone moves towards the lake for champagne.
Dinner might take place on a terrace as the light starts to change.
And several hours later, everyone is inside dancing.
The music can move with the wedding rather than staying the same from beginning to end.
A very natural timeline might be:

Talloires deserves a special mention because it has become such a natural wedding destination.
Venues around this side of the lake lend themselves particularly well to ceremony and cocktail music outdoors, before celebrations move inside later in the evening.
And we’ve actually had our own artists performing there.
Lightwoods, for example, performed at an Abbaye de Talloires wedding, with the couple specifically praising the song they learned for the day and their ceremony performance.
That sort of flexibility matters.
A musician who understands weddings isn’t simply standing in one place waiting to play their allocated 60 minutes. They’re working around a live event where timings change, guests move and the atmosphere develops throughout the day.
There are musicians genuinely based in Annecy
This is another reason we don’t think it makes sense to automatically fly a musician halfway across Europe for every destination wedding.
There is a strong professional music community throughout Haute-Savoie and the wider French Alps.
One of the acts on the Après Ski Bands roster, Tom’N G, was actually formed in Annecy.
The duo combines vocals and keys and covers French and international music, jazz and pop. They can perform wedding ceremonies, drinks receptions and more upbeat sets, with an optional saxophonist and a DJ set afterwards.
For an Annecy wedding, that can mean one act moving through several parts of the day without unnecessarily complicated travel logistics.

Born in Annecy and based in France, Tom’N G are an obvious place to start for a local wedding or event.
They can move from elegant ceremony music into cocktails and more festive sets, and Thomas can continue with a DJ set later in the night.
For couples trying to keep the number of suppliers manageable, that versatility is particularly useful.
Lightwoods — for ceremonies and cocktails
Lightwoods combine two lead vocals and guitars, with a repertoire that moves through pop, folk, soul and disco.
They’re based in France and work particularly well for ceremonies and drinks receptions where you want live music to be noticeable without overpowering the whole event.
They’ve also already performed at a wedding at the Abbaye de Talloires, so this isn’t hypothetical Annecy relevance — they’ve done it.
Al Jones — from ceremony to party
Al Jones is another France-based artist who works particularly well for weddings because he’s not locked into one format.
He can perform solo, as a duo, with The Al Jones Band, and can also provide a DJ set.
He’s also already performed for an ASB wedding at the Château de Menthon, where the clients described Al and Tchai as incredible and said they made the reception particularly special.

Once dinner is finished and you’re trying to get everyone onto the dancefloor, the job changes.
The Al Jones Band is a France-based trio built around pop, indie, soul, funk and big recognisable songs, with years of experience across weddings, private events and the French Alps.
They can go from a more relaxed apéro feel into a proper evening party, which suits events where you don’t want the live music to feel one-dimensional.
What kind of live music works best for an event around Lake Annecy?
It depends more on the event than the postcode.
For a ceremony
Think:
solo singer
piano
acoustic guitar
duo
strings.
You want something that works emotionally and can adapt to timing.
For lakeside cocktails
An acoustic duo is hard to beat.
It creates atmosphere without forcing guests to stop talking and watch a show.
Roaming bands can also work brilliantly if you want the drinks reception to feel more interactive.
For dinner
You don’t necessarily need a musician at all.
Seriously.
After a ceremony and two hours of cocktails, people may be perfectly happy having dinner with a good playlist and actually talking to each other.

Annecy’s location makes it a very natural place for private and corporate events too.
